Almost daily now a day we
are getting news that how ATM card holders are cheated deposited money at SBI
ATM. Style of actions by different criminals are almost same. It is further
seen that almost each & every case is reported to the concerned Bank &
Police Authority.
I myself Retd ex central
Govt servant, extreme Disabled Person [as detailed at the top of letter head]
had suffered a cheating over Rs.8000/- by miscreants from my SBI-ATM on
19.10.2015. Details of incident & other relevant particulars have been sent
to Police Authority in detail may be seen at ‘Attachment’ for proper action so
that this type of cheating may be tuned down & arrested. Increasing trend
of cheating cases at SBI-ATM now a day proves that sufficient actions are yet
to be taken to stop these type of SBI ATM cheating cases. This is a very sorry
situation and should be given serious attention to such problems immediately.
Cheating money through SBI
ATM in my case took place on 19th October ‘2015. Immediate repercussion of SBI
Bank Branch on receipt of information from my son may kindly be noted to study
the case in better appreciation:-
Branch Manager, SBI TNT Studio
Branch (5680) immediately arranged blocking of ATM and suggested different ways
to advise other connected departments for necessary corrective actions. As far
as executive bank is concerned all sort of help rendered by BM SBI TNT Studio
(5680) including requisition for fresh ATM card application. Initiative well
appreciated.
Whereas please note the
attitude, nasty / motivated behavior of so called Manager in charge
distributing fresh ATM cards to the customers. The Manager in question when
introduced to me & reason of my attending Bank branch he wanted to know if
I had made any reference to Police authority by this time. It seems my
affirmative reply could not satisfy this gentleman. This extreme disabled stood
before him for about 30/35 minutes but he remained busy with other works but
never talked to me or asked me to sit somewhere so that he can call me
afterwards. Other people present & some bank staff requested the Manager to
attend me & relief a disabled. The Manager become very much annoyed and
asked me to sign a register of Receipt of ATM cards. As I had to sign register
with my unusual left hand in standing position the signature was not clear /
slightly tilted, Manager immediately started shouting that signature do not
tally and unacceptable. Someone opined that since an aged extreme Disabled Person
himself signed before you the same be accepted duly countersigned by you.
Immediately Manager reacted I don’t require any advice from you. Manager wanted
to examine my Bank Pass Book and found that no photograph have been pasted by
bank authority at my Pass Book. I told that I have furnished photographs to
Bank authority but why they did not paste it I can’t say. Manager started
threading me that he will see how I draw my pension. I did not reply or made
any argument with Manager considering my Hemaparasis, hypertension illness. I
and others present there as an escort to Aged Paralysis Disabled are of the
opinion that the Manager in question annoyed as I made a complain to Police
authority and started pursuing the same. Had Police or any other investigating
authority start proper investigation they could have picked up loose threads
and picked up corrupted persons involved in such “SBI ATM CHEATING FRUAD”
cases. We still believe that proper investigation by Police authority could prevent
/ Stop such ‘SBI ATM CHEATING / FRAUD SCANDALS
’.

persons connected with cheating with SBI ATM card reported through media with
an idea to get inputs if any helpful to investigation team and did not request
to lodge a complain. Incidence happened with a senior PWD (PWD Act’55) has
since been reported to all concerned including Chief Commissioner Persons with
